Cutting your curly hair can be a quite dreadful moment for all of those curly hair girlies out there. You know what I'm talking about! You know that you're in need for a cut because the curls aren't bouncing up, but you're scared that it will be too short or mis-shaped after getting it cut. You make the appointment regardless of this fear. You drag yourself to the salon and go in; they wash your hair, and the next thing you know, the stylist chops off those curls. As you sit in the chair feeling restless, you think to yourself when my hair dries, it's going to be a short, puffy, triangular bob. Inside you are having a major anxiety attack as you await the results this new haircut. The reality is that this moment does not need to be so dreadful! Here at Studio Within, we have DevaCurl experts who have mastered the technique of cutting curls so that your hair will look better than ever after. Instead of dreading your haircut, the Deva Cut method will make you anticipate your next cut. How is this done? The Deva Cut technique involves cutting curly hair while its dry. By using this technique, you and the stylist know just how much hair is getting cut off without feeling nervous inside as you anticipate what your curls will look like when dry. You will leave the salon feeling beautiful and proud of your natural curls! Everything to know about balayage:
What is balayage? Balayage is a French coloring technique from the 1970s. Using this technique, a hair stylist hand paints hair dye to create a more natural and effortless look. The attraction: Since this technique is created by hand, the stylist has more control over the paint brush and can create a look that is soft and natural to a look that is harsh and bold. Balayage is also tempting because it is so low maintenance. As the hair grows out, you can leave the balayage in and allow it to grow out for an ombre look, or you can come in for a touch-up. How it's done: Using a brush, the hair stylist simply paints on hair dye to strands or sections of hair. Some stylists separate the sections by using foil or cotton while others tease the hair to keep it separated. It's that time of the year again: I take off my hat after being in the cold only to realize that my hair is sticking straight up in the air! The static epidemic has spread once again. What do I do? I cannot walk around all day looking like a lion. Not okay. We have done some research and are here to help solve all of your static problems!
1. Dryer sheets - Weird, I know. But it really does work! All you have to do is rub them on your hair brushes and not only will it get rid of that static, but it will leave your hair smelling good too! 2. Hand lotion - If you're at work and don't have access to a handy-dandy dryer sheet, simply whip out that hand cream from your purse. A tiny pea-sized amount will do the trick. Rub it around in your hands and work it through your hair from top to bottom. Bonus: your hands will feel good too! 3. Hairspray - Hairspray is totally a girl's best friend. Simply spray some hairspray on your hairbrush and comb through to keep the hair from flying back up! We're all obsessing over the technicolor fantasy that we like to call "mermaid hair". Not only does the vivid color grab attention immediately, but it inspires you to make a change. Most of us out there are a little scared of such drastic changes, but those brave ones (you know who you are) take the leap of faith into a world of hair inspired fantasy. With the skills of our very own and talented Jacob Greenfield, this royal blue mermaid look lives up to all magical sea-inspired masterpieces. Women of all hair textures, lengths, and colors can join in the multi-colored world of mermaids. We tend to think of bright colors as a summer fab, but it works just as well in the autumn too! Here, this copper toned red is full of fall vibes. Feeling brave enough to try it out? Come to Studio Within, and our expert stylists will mix the perfect hue to match your under-water inspirations!

Protecting hair from free radicals and leaving the hair as healthy as can be!" With the change in weather, the falling leaves, and the pumpkin spiced everything, are you looking to change your hair color too? At Studio Within, we have picked what we predict will be the four favorite colors this fall. Our color choices will keep you looking fresh, vibrant, and cool this fall.
Our first choice is jet-black. Sounds a little scary at first, right? Well if you mix that inky shade, you can create an unexpected cool look. Just remember to make sure that the hair tone matches your eyebrows! If you feel that jet-black is too bold of a choice for you, warm it up with some chestnut highlights! Our second choice is called Golden-Bronde (brown-blonde). This color is perfect for all hair types from straight, or wavy, to curly. As your hair grows, the lighter pieces of blonde will blend beautifully with your base color, leaving the look natural and sleek. Our third choice for fall faves is called Warm Copper. This tone is the perfect blend of dusty rose and deep auburn, the perfect choice for the transition to fall. The vibrant mix of hues will pop and resemble falling leaves. One tip we recommend is to prevent this color from falling flat by keeping the choice of red as vibrant as possible. Our final fall fave is the traditional platinum. We know you probably think this is just an old summer fab, however, we just cannot get enough of this summer trend. You can always cool it off with an ice-shade of platinum.
